Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Skateboarder
This is the one of the first ever issues of Skateboarder Magazine by John Severson Publications.
Includes coverage of the first annual Intenational Skateboard Championships held in Anaheim, California. John Freis took home top honors, along with a $500 scholarship. Lots of great early skateboarding pics...amazing that most were barefoot! This one also features Rick Griffin's vision of "Skateboardland," a two-page cult classic.
This magazine is in very good condition, about 75 to 80 percent of mint. Very light cover and spine wear. Bottom staple is rusty. Minor water stain near spine affects bottom edge of several interior pages. Complete and intact with no torn or missing pages and no cutouts.
Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
