Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfer Magazine - 1970's

So you think you're having a bad day? How about this poor sap, about to go over the falls on an eight-footer at Sunset. As the description reads, "...after living through an experience like this, you can relax, 'cause nothing worse can happen!" This issue is loaded. First are surf movie reviews including Zephyr, Morning of the Earth, Oceans, and Five Summer Stories. A lengthy Bud Browne interview follows, including some classic frame grabs from his many movies. Also includes "The Ranch Reality," "Focus: Hawaii," "El Dorado: A True Life Adventure" by John Amsterdam, a Portugal and Morocco travel feature, and coverage of the Hollywood-by-the-Sea 4A Pro-Am. Finally, a Surfboard Buyer's Guide, "Toes on the Nose," and "Huge Monday," a pictorial featuring some of the biggest, most perfect Pipeline in years. Gerry Lopez, Owl Chapman, James Jones, Jock Sutherland, and Sam Hawk nail some incredibly perfect 10- to 12-foot bombs. This magazine is in very good or Betty-plus condition, about 85 percent of mint. Very light cover and spine wear. No pulling at staples. No torn or missing pages and no cutouts. We have a second copy of this issue in slightly lesser condition. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
