Vintage Collectibles - Magazines - Surfer Magazine - 1960's

This landmark Murphy issue brings back a flood of memories! Lots of classic artwork throughout by SURFER Founder John Severson and a very talented young cartoonist by the name of Rick Griffin. (His Murphy and the Marines, Part III is included here.) Also includes pictorials featuring Sunset Beach, Australia, San Diego, and New Zealand. Check out the ad for Severson's Going My Wave on page 5! Plus period ads by Con, Hannon Surfboards, Joe Quigg, Wardy, Gordie, Olympic Surfboards, Hobie, Dave Sweet, Dewey Weber, G & S, and O'Neill's Surf Shop (before it was O'Neill's!). This issue is in very good condition, at least 85 percent of mint. Spine is just starting to split at top and bottom edge. Very minor cover stains as shown in scan. No pulling at staples and no staple rust. Very light cover and spine wear overall. Complete and intact with no torn or missing pages and no cutouts. Subscription card is also intact. No water stains or moisture damage of any kind. No insect damage. We have a second copy in lesser condition, about 75 percent of mint. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board. Click Here for a closer look.
