INTERNATIONAL SURFING VOLUME 2, NO. 5 (1966)

This is the hard-to-find oversized Duke issue in good condition. For some reason very few of these have survived in good shape, perhaps because the cover stock chosen by the publisher was a bit too thin...

The late Duke Paoa Kahanamoku is, of course, the father of modern surfing and was inducted into the International Surfing Hall of Fame, along with a cast of legends including Dewey Weber, Mickey Dora, George Downing, Greg Noll, Phil Edwards, Mike Doyle, Buzzy Trent, and many other standouts from the era. Joyce Hoffman was named top female surfer.

This one's chock full of classic photos of all the legends from the 1960s. Don't miss the full-page ad urging you to join the "Duke Kahanamoku Surf Club" in Waikiki. For just $5 you get a membership card, an official patch, clubhouse key, decal, T-shirt, and autographed photo! Wonder what that might be worth today?...

This copy is in fair to good condition, about 70 percent of mint. Cover has detached from interior pages. Interior pages have yellowed with age but are in good condition. Complete with no torn or missing pages and no cutouts. No water stains or moisture damage of any kind.

Measures approximately 9 inches wide by 12 inches tall. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
