Vintage Collectibles - SOLD ITEMS
This is certainly one of the most coveted of all vintage water-transfer decals from the 1960s: an original Murphy decal.
Murphy was an instant hit when he made the cover of Surfer Magazine in 1962 (Volume 3, No. 3). He was Rick Griffin's lovable gremmie who got an edge to him in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
This vintage water slide decal is in excellent to near-mint condition, at least 90 percent of mint. Tack holes affect corners (outside image area). Otherwise very light wear with no creases, tears, or tape marks. No water stains or moisture damage of any kind.
Manufactured by the Art Decal Company in Long Beach, California. Guaranteed original and authentic. From the Lee Gibson Collection.
Measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches tall. Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
Sold at $375.
