SKATEBOARDER MAGAZINE VOLUME 1, NO. 3 (1965)

This is the one of the first ever issues of Skateboarder Magazine by John Severson Publications. Includes coverage of the first annual Intenational Skateboard Championships held in Anaheim, California. John Freis took home top honors, along with a $500 scholarship. Lots of great early skateboarding pics...amazing that most were barefoot! This one also features Rick Griffin's vision of "Skateboardland," a two-page cult classic. This issue is in Da Kine-plus condition, or about 65 percent of mint. Spine is scuffed and shows moderate wear. Page 3 is missing a small (1 inch by 1/2 inch) piece at bottom edge. Minor water staining affects the edges of most interior pages. No missing pages and no cutouts! Packaged in an archival-quality clear plastic sleeve with an acid-free mat backing board.
