Compiled by Jack Pollard with foreword by Duke Kahanamoku, The Surfrider is a complete guide to the sport, written by 17 experts and illustrated with 133 photographs and many diagrams. From selecting a board to the fine points of competitive surfing, this book covers vocabulary, surfboard care, rescue techniques, cold water surfing, and best surfing beaches in the United States, Hawaii, and Australia. A library copy in fair to good condition, about 70 percent of mint. Moderate wear to dust jacket. Tape used on dust jacket has stained the endpapers slightly. Some pages have small tears at bottom edge. One page is marred by a ball-point pen. Otherwise intact with no missing pages or cutouts. Well read but not destroyed. Copyright 1963 by The K.G. Murray Publishing Company, Sydney, Australia. 144 pages. Hardbound. Measures approximately 10 inches by 7 inches.
